Brands or no Brands...?

This is not something I normally do but sometimes you need to share bad experiences to inform others.

Any mom will know that nappies are very expensive so here is my story.

I used Huggies Gold and Huggies Dry Comfort, with both Nina and Rubz. So this was the obvious choice when Evi was born as that was my go-to brand. I was familiar with the results of the product but, with that said, we all know the age gap between my 3 kids. Nina is 11, Rubz is turning 8 in a few days and Evi is 10 months now.

I never had issues complaining to Huggies, Kimberley Clarks Customer Servicesas a matter of fact they were quite helpful whenever I had a problem while using this product when Nina was a baby. But with Evi, I had three different complaints and yet till today - it has not been sorted, I have stopped following up and decided to rather just switch brands.

I know what issues I had with your product but you cannot even take the time to look at the video mailed to you. Which means to me that you do not care. The only feedback I received was that the photo with the reference number was incorrect, and then the next was 'sorry, we do not fully understand your problem, we are closing the call'. Seriously, the video shows that the baby hardly had two wees, and the diaper was leaking and falling apart. The photo taken shows the gel coming out by the side, but yet the information is not clear to you - you do not understand what my problem is...mmm so then I do not get why I should purchase Huggies diapers or why I should use Huggies wet wipes.

Isn't it just frustrating that our daily struggles with kids are no one elses worries. We need simple understanding and assistance but we, as mothers, get seen as individuals that like to moan and find fault. What might seem pointless to you means a lot to us, we work 24/7 365 days a year. If you want to know what works for a baby, ask a mom. Aren't we the once that will know what works and what does not.

Next is the baby bottles saga. With Nina and Rubz, we went with no-name brands as we were scared to get expensive bottles and they would not adapt to the bottle and fortunate for me it worked for I did not have a problem. Then whenEvi comes a long and my awesome family, family friends, and close friends buy branded bottles. What fun this was. Not sure if any other moms felt so uneducated as I did cause this was a mission for us. Each Tommee Tippee bottle is unique. You can only use this tit on this bottle, or this top with this bottle otherwise, you experience leakages. I did not know this but soon found out after getting home and washing the bottles. So after making several calls and talking over what's app, I was informed that bottle was designed to work with that one tit, that one top, and that one lid. After a long time, I was able to get the right bottle parts together again and have no leakages, since it was worse than what I thought but was for a good cause. Evi loved those bottles.

Evi is 10 months old and I felt it was time for new bottles. In Dischem this awesome store attendee sees me looking at the bottles and the prices - I mean WHAT! New bottles are so expensive! Anyhow, the lady was so kind by guiding me through a series of questions and her knowledge on the matter was surprisingly good. So this mom bought a set of 3 new Nuby bottles for R260 whereas a set of 3 bottles of Tommee Tippee costs R300 and I was educated on that fact that yes Tommee Tippee has been around since the 1960s and Nuby only since 1970' BUT Tommee Tippee was sued by Nuby in 2013 due to them stealing Nuby's design of the affected new shape and tit designs...impressive hay. So in short, Evi likes the Nuby bottles as they look similar to Tommee Tippee and the best thing is the tits are so awesome he likes rubbing them against his gums.

Any moms that had similar experiences please feel free to share it.
